Residency and Fellowship Program Update

The UMMC Dermatology Residency Program filled three residency slots in March. Two of the new residents will complete their PGY-1 year before joining us in July 2022. The third new resident has already completed a pediatrics residency, so she will come to UMMC as a PGY-2 in July 2022. Caroline Doo, MD, a recent graduate of the residency program, also will return to UMMC this July to complete her Micrographic Surgery and Dermatologic Oncology Fellowship with William Black, MD.

Even with COVID-19 restrictions in place for the past year, our residents have been very active in research and produced dozens of peer reviewed publications and book chapters. They continue to enthusiastically teach medical students, their faculty, and other departments, and lead the department's quality assessment/quality assurance program. The program also continues to maintain its 100 percent board pass rate.
